Clarity

Clarity is a deeply introspective piece that was painted after I finally received a diagnosis in the U.S., following a period of uncertainty while in Denmark and France. The artwork captures the moment when it became clear that instead of one nodule, there were actually three separate nodules on the right side of my neck. The central circles in the piece represent the actual size of these nodules, contrasted with the normal left thyroid. Surrounding these, the expanding circles illustrate how something seemingly small can have a profound ripple effect, echoing the impact of this discovery on my life and health.
Colors
In the show "Ripples," the colors play a significant role in conveying the themes of healing and transformation. The deep blue symbolizes the throat chakra, associated with communication and self-expression, reflecting the journey of finding one’s voice. The use of gold and white represents light and healing, inspired by a meditation practice where I visualized my body as darkness—either black or dark blue—and with each inhale, golden light would radiate outward, removing the darkness. Once the darkness was cleared, I would repeat the process with the color white, further emphasizing purification and renewal. These colors create a visual narrative of healing and the gradual emergence of light from within.
