The title, a Latin phrase meaning 'from the beginning,' 'anew,' or 'afresh,' resonates deeply with the fetal position of the statue, symbolizing a return to origins and the beginning of something new. The concept also parallels a trial de novo, where a case is retried as if it had never been heard before, reflecting the uncertainty and unknowns surrounding this procedure. This piece captures the essence of starting over and the complexities that come with facing something entirely anew, despite the experiences of others.
