Genesis
Genesis marks the beginning of both this body of artwork and my personal emotional healing journey. I started this painting immediately after receiving my ultrasound in Denmark, during a time when doctors had been dismissing my concerns as being 'in my head.' In a state of uncertainty and frustration, I turned to meditation and painting. The initial circle in the painting represents the size of my nodule, and each subsequent layer was applied meticulously, with each layer being painted 3-5 times. This process extended over 50 hours, allowing me to channel and release my emotions, ultimately leading me to a state of calm. 'Genesis' was not only a breakthrough in my artistic expression but also a surprise to me, as it was my first venture into abstract art. This piece signifies the start of a new creative path and the profound impact of art in my healing process.
Colors
In the show "Ripples," the colors play a significant role in conveying the themes of healing and transformation. The deep blue symbolizes the throat chakra, associated with communication and self-expression, reflecting the journey of finding one’s voice. The use of gold and white represents light and healing, inspired by a meditation practice where I visualized my body as darkness—either black or dark blue—and with each inhale, golden light would radiate outward, removing the darkness. Once the darkness was cleared, I would repeat the process with the color white, further emphasizing purification and renewal. These colors create a visual narrative of healing and the gradual emergence of light from within.
