Lost, but Found

Print2.jpg

Lost, but Found is a photograph captured in Yosemite Valley, a place I arrived at unexpectedly and where I initially felt a profound sense of being lost. The image conveys the raw and expansive beauty of Yosemite, reflecting the overwhelming emotions of uncertainty and displacement I experienced upon arrival. Despite feeling lost at times, this journey led me to discover unexpected sources of support and connection. I found a vibrant community and nurtured my inner wild child, which flourished in this natural and untamed environment. The photograph embodies this duality of feeling disoriented while simultaneously finding a sense of belonging and personal growth. 'Lost, but Found' represents the transformative power of embracing uncertainty and discovering new facets of oneself through unexpected paths and experiences.

How Do I Take My Photographs?

I take my photographs by carefully setting up my camera on a tripod in front of the scene. Using a remote trigger with a timer, I position myself and move into the pose I’ve envisioned. It’s essential for me to be in control of the camera and the shot because this process is about reclaiming my own body and deciding how I am portrayed. Through this method, I ensure that I am represented exactly as I wish, on my own terms.
