Probed Healing

Probed Healing delves into the intense experience of undergoing needle biopsies, represented by the lines that converge toward the center of the piece. The healing circles, transitioning from white to gold to blue, symbolize the inner process of recovery and the layers of healing that follow such invasive procedures. Having endured three separate needle biopsies in three different countries, I wanted to convey the profound difficulty of allowing something foreign to penetrate my body, my ecosystem. The decision to undergo a biopsy was incredibly challenging, and this piece reflects the emotional and physical invasion that accompanies such a medical intervention.
Colors
In the show "Ripples," the colors play a significant role in conveying the themes of healing and transformation. The deep blue symbolizes the throat chakra, associated with communication and self-expression, reflecting the journey of finding one’s voice. The use of gold and white represents light and healing, inspired by a meditation practice where I visualized my body as darkness—either black or dark blue—and with each inhale, golden light would radiate outward, removing the darkness. Once the darkness was cleared, I would repeat the process with the color white, further emphasizing purification and renewal. These colors create a visual narrative of healing and the gradual emergence of light from within.
