Vibrations
Vibrations is a painting inspired by my experience with sound healing facilitated by Brenda Negley using a vibration bowl. The piece captures the profound impact of these sound healing sessions, which created a deep sense of resonance and transformation within me. The painting features 19 spirals, each representing a month from the time of my diagnosis to the moment of my surgery. These spirals illustrate the ongoing waves of change and emotional shifts I experienced throughout this period. The undulating forms convey the vibrational energy that flowed through me during the healing process, symbolizing both the turbulence and the soothing effects of sound therapy. 'Vibrations' reflects the journey of navigating through the diagnosis, healing, and ultimately finding a sense of equilibrium and clarity.
Colors
In the show "Ripples," the colors play a significant role in conveying the themes of healing and transformation. The deep blue symbolizes the throat chakra, associated with communication and self-expression, reflecting the journey of finding one’s voice. The use of gold and white represents light and healing, inspired by a meditation practice where I visualized my body as darkness—either black or dark blue—and with each inhale, golden light would radiate outward, removing the darkness. Once the darkness was cleared, I would repeat the process with the color white, further emphasizing purification and renewal. These colors create a visual narrative of healing and the gradual emergence of light from within.
