Whrilwind
Whirlwind emerged from a period of intensely powerful emotions that I needed to release. This painting captures the tumultuous nature of healing, emphasizing that the process is not linear or consistently progressive. Rather, healing involves cycles of growth and pain, with moments where the emotional storm feels overwhelming. The painting reflects the idea that healing is accompanied by shadows—areas of unresolved pain or darkness that come into focus as the light of healing shines upon them. The swirling motion in the artwork symbolizes both the chaos and the transformative potential of working through these shadows, illustrating that while healing involves uncovering and addressing deeper issues, it is a dynamic and ongoing journey.
Colors
In the show "Ripples," the colors play a significant role in conveying the themes of healing and transformation. The deep blue symbolizes the throat chakra, associated with communication and self-expression, reflecting the journey of finding one’s voice. The use of gold and white represents light and healing, inspired by a meditation practice where I visualized my body as darkness—either black or dark blue—and with each inhale, golden light would radiate outward, removing the darkness. Once the darkness was cleared, I would repeat the process with the color white, further emphasizing purification and renewal. These colors create a visual narrative of healing and the gradual emergence of light from within.
